No obstante, ese número tiene también un artículo sobre las tribulaciones y luchas de Bill Ballantine para establecer “reservas marinas” en Nueva Zelanda. Un aspecto crucial de ese artículo es que Ballantine revela que el proceso de desarrollo e implementación de una AMP puede tomar décadas y que requiere persistencia, trabajo duro y persistencia. ¡Un gran consejo! The April edition of the National Geographic is devoted to overfishing. It is a superficial piece on such a complex process, and a vitriolic against fishers everywhere. A detailed critique of the piece is posted at Antrópico. However, it also includes a piece titled Blue Heaven that describes the trials and tribulations of Bill Ballantine’s efforts to develop marine reserves in New Zealand. One key aspect of the piece is that Ballantine reveals that the process of starting, developing and finalizing n MPA may take decades. Persistence, hard work and persistence are the key elements.
