La próxima semana inicia el primer Congreso Internacional sobre Áreas Marinas Protegidas en Geelong, Australia (23-28 Octubre 2005). Al menos 3 presentaciones abordan aspectos de las agregaciones reproductivas de peces. Las presentaciones son las siguientes: “Coral Reef fish spawning aggregations in Southern Kenya” por Melita Samoilys; ” Fish spawning aggregation protection is essential in MPA design” por Martin Russell, y ” The impacts of fishing inside a marine reserve: the mutton snapper spawning aggregation fishery at Gladden Spit, Belize” por Callum Roberts.
