Según un estudio realizado por Will Heyman y B. Wade y presentado en la reunión del Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute en Colombia, las agregaciones reproductivas de peces en Belice presentan señales de deterioro; sin embargo, los esfuerzos para proteger algunas de ellas quizá estén ayudando. According to a study performed by Will Heyman and B. Wade and presented in the meeting of the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute in Colombia, the fish spawning aggregations in Belize are showing signs of heavy depletion; however, the efforts for protecting some of them may be helping.
