Recientemente, la pesquería del mero Tigre (Mycteroperca tigris) en Vieques, Puerto Rico, ha sido reseñada por Matos-Caraballo, J. Posada y B. Luckhurst (2006). Los desembarques pesqueros provenientes de las agregaciones del mero Tigre disminuyeron un 60%, de 5,000 kg en 1995 a cerca de 2,000 en 1998. Recently, the Tiger grouper fishery in Vieques, Puerto Rico, has been examined by Matos-Caraballo, J. Posada y B. Luckhurst (2006). The fishery landings coming from the Tiger grouper spawning aggregations declined 60%, from 5,000 kg in 1995 to about 2,000 in 1998.
